On May 16, the final stage of the annual tag rugby tournament “Kids League” took place at Secondary School No. 71 in Bishkek. The tournament is organized for the second consecutive year by the Sports Department of the Bishkek City Mayor’s Office.

The final featured 16 school teams of boys and girls who successfully passed the preliminary qualifying rounds in the four districts of Bishkek.

The tag rugby matches — a non-contact and dynamic form of rugby that is gaining popularity among children and teenagers — were held with the support of the Rugby Federation of Kyrgyzstan.

The winners of the “Kids League 2025” were:

  • 1st place: School No. 59;
  • 2nd place: School No. 96;
  • 3rd place: School No. 54.

The prize-winning teams were awarded trophies, medals, and vouchers for a holiday at a resort on the picturesque shores of Lake Issyk-Kul.

The opening ceremony of the tournament featured children’s ensembles who performed musical pieces on national instruments and traditional dances.

The “Kids League” tournament aims to promote tag rugby among schoolchildren, foster team spirit, and encourage a healthy lifestyle.
